Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located at 210 Holditch Street (behind 241 Pizza) in Sturgeon Falls.

 

Q: How much time do I have to commit to your programs?

A: It is entirely up to you and your schedule; we recommend you commit as much time as you can so it can get done as soon as possible. We are flexible in scheduling and we will accommodate you in any way possible.

 

Q: How long will it take to obtain my OSSD (Diploma), or my equivalency?

A: It depends from learner to learner given your time constraints, as well as previously obtained credits.

 

Q: How old do I have to be to participate in your programs? Am I too old?

A: As per our MTCU mandate we serve adults over the age of 18, but no one is ever too old.

 

Q: I have a learning disability; can I still join your programs?

A: Yes

 

Q: I have a physical disability; how will I be able to join your programs?

Q: What do your programs cost?

A: They are offered free of charge.

 

Q: Do you offer G.E.D. prep?

A: Yes, we offer G.E.D. prep free of charge.

 

Q: Do you offer employment prep?

A: Yes, we offer employment preparation free of charge

 

Q: I need help writing a resume; do you offer any assistance like that?

A: Give us a call and talk to us we would be happy to help or at least point you in the right direction.

 

Q: I am new to West Nipissing; do you offer any programs for newcomers?

A: We are certainly willing to help anyone as much as we can. Drop by or call us and we will sit down and assess your situation.

 

Q: Do I need specific training to volunteer for your organization?

A: As long as you are willing to learn, we will provide any training needed.

 

Q: How do I become a volunteer at the Literacy Alliance of West Nipissing?

A: Give us a call to schedule an appointment we will go through all the details.

 

Q: I am a senior citizen and retired; can I still volunteer?

A: Of course, we welcome volunteers over the age of 19.

 

Q: Can I volunteer more than once a week in more than one position?

A: We prefer to start everyone off in one position to get them started. If they feel they can handle another position we can certainly make arrangements.
